How To Use Themes and Motifs

Learn how to use Themes and Motifs to make a masterful cohesive score

"I highly recommend this course! It is profound. How can you write 90-120 minutes of music in a month on a deadline? Knowing how to develop motivically is an important part of the equation. What I found most illuminating were...the compositional processes the great film composers use. I got the score to Batman after taking this course and many of the things taught were totally evident in the score - things I never noticed or heard before! This knowledge puts everything in a whole new light. Frankly the course cost is a great bargain!!"

- Richard K., Composer

One of the most important skills in the craft of Film Scoring, is the ability to make an entire score sound cohesive, unified, and coherent throughout every cue, for sometimes hours of music (think "Lord of the Rings" by Howard Shore).

In this course, you'll discover what makes that possible, and how you can incorporate concepts of using Main Themes, Unifying Themes, and Motifs to create a Master Plan "Road Map".

You will learn how to identify and extract core melodic elements to permutate into the entire full length unified tapestry of your own large format scores.
